The Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Prof. Abel Olajide Olorunnisola, led a delegation from the University on a courtesy visit to Geometric Power on Thursday, 24 September 2026. The delegation included the University Registrar, Mr. Lamidi Sunmonu Tafa; the Bursar, Mr. Adeyanju Adebisi; and Mr. Hakeem Adeyemi of the Information and Protocol Unit.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured Geometric Power’s generation and distribution facilities, including the power plant and substations supporting electricity supply within the Aba Ring-Fenced Area. The tour provided the visitors with a firsthand view of the infrastructure, technology and engineering systems behind the Aba Integrated Power Project, as well as the integrated approach to electricity generation and distribution within the network.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Olorunnisola described the experience as particularly relevant to the University’s focus on technology and practical learning. “Seeing these facilities firsthand has been exciting.

For us as a technology university, this is a practical example of how engineering knowledge can be applied to address real needs and support development,” he said. Chairman of Geometric Power, Prof. Bart Nnaji, who also serves as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bells University of Technology, shared the broader vision behind Geometric Power’s investment in Nigeria’s electricity sector.

“Our vision has always been to help build a Nigeria where reliable electricity enables industries to compete globally, businesses to create jobs and families to enjoy a better quality of life. We have tremendous talent and enterprise in this country, and people deserve the infrastructure to fulfil their potential.

“Through the Aba Integrated Power Project, we are demonstrating what is possible when that belief is backed by sustained investment and commitment,” Prof. Nnaji said.
