Project Overview

Quad Power Project, Aba Phase II.

The Quad Power Project is a 375-megawatt combined-cycle power plant driven by General Electric turbines.

Currently in the development phase, the plant will be fueled by natural gas and located on the same site as the Aba Integrated Power Project, Aba IPP, power plant.

The project forms part of Geometric Power’s broader power development vision for Aba and the wider electricity market.

Project Design

Designed as a gas-fueled combined-cycle facility.

Quad Power is planned as a combined-cycle power plant, a configuration designed to improve efficiency by making better use of energy produced during power generation.

The plant will be driven by General Electric turbines and fueled by natural gas, aligning with the gas-fired power development model already associated with Geometric Power’s operations in Aba.

Its location on the same site as the Aba IPP power plant supports coordinated development and creates an opportunity for additional generation capacity within the Aba power ecosystem.

Power Supply Options

Potential supply to the national grid or Aba ring-fence.

National Grid Supply

Electricity generated by the Quad Power Project can be sold directly to the national grid through a Power Purchase Agreement, PPA, with the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company, NBET.

Aba Ring-Fence Supply

The electricity generated can also be supplied to consumers within the Aba ring-fence, supporting power availability for industries, businesses and communities in the area.

Strategic Importance

Strengthening the future of power supply from Aba.

As Aba Phase II, the Quad Power Project represents an important expansion pathway for Geometric Power’s generation portfolio.

The project is positioned to support either grid-based supply through NBET or direct supply within the Aba ring-fence, giving it strategic relevance for both national electricity delivery and local industrial power needs.
