Earlier this week, Geometric Power received a delegation from Terra Industries, including Todd Stiefler, Director of Commercial, and Ikenna Nnaji, Director of Marketing, for an engagement on the potential deployment of autonomous drone technology to support infrastructure monitoring across the Aba Integrated Power Project.
The discussions focused on how drone-enabled surveillance and inspection could enhance visibility across transmission and distribution infrastructure, support early identification of faults and abnormalities, and strengthen the routine monitoring of assets in difficult-to-access locations.
The engagement also explored how autonomous monitoring systems could complement existing operational processes and provide additional data to support infrastructure management, maintenance planning and overall network reliability across the Aba Ring-Fenced Area.
Terra Industries has continued to expand the commercial application of its autonomous surveillance systems. The company recently secured a $1 million Phase One contract with Anka Metals for surveillance deployment at the Jema’a Resource Project in Kaduna State. It also recently led a $1 million pre-seed investment round in Nigerian cybersecurity company Aeon, reflecting a broader focus on the protection of both physical and digital critical infrastructure.
