Employment Criteria

To join Geometric Power, prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:1. Educational Requirements

  • For senior-level positions: A Degree or HND from a recognized University in a relevant discipline.
  • For all positions: A minimum of five (5) O’ Level/SSCE credits, verifiable at the WAEC office or its equivalent from recognized institutions abroad.

2. National Youth Service Programme (NYSC)

  • Applicants for senior positions must have completed the NYSC prior to employment consideration or within 24 months after employment if relocating from abroad. Exemptions from NYSC must be supported by evidence.

3. Additional Qualifications

  • Possession of a Master’s degree and/or industry-relevant professional qualifications in addition to the minimum requirements could be an added advantage.

4. Work Authorization

  • Applicants must be Nigerian or have the necessary work permits if not a Nigerian citizen.

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meter Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electric meters and related equipment. Experience as a linesman or operations technician is an added advantage and will be considered favorably.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair various types of electricity meters (prepaid, postpaid, smart meters, etc.)
  • Conduct routine testing and calibration of meters to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve metering issues, including faulty readings, meter tampering, and communication faults.
  • Perform meter reading verifications and support revenue protection activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and electrical codes during fieldwork.
  • Assist in power quality monitoring and load analysis as required.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls related to metering concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in meter installation and servicing (1-3 years minimum preferred).
  • Previous experience as a linesman or operations technician is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of electrical distribution systems and metering technology.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and metering schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights or in the field under varying weather conditions.
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols and company standards.

Additional Information:
Ideal candidate age: 18-35 years old

Availability to work occasional on weekends, holidays, or overtime, as needed.
