Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) at a Gas Metering Station is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems critical for accurate gas flow measurement, monitoring, and control. The role requires expertise in electrical systems, process instrumentation, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards to ensure efficient station operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Instrumentation Maintenance and Calibration:
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation systems such as pressure differential transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and gas analyzers.
- Conduct regular inspections and performance tests on instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with gas measurement and control systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, which includude Fire and gas system.
- Repair and replace electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Sound Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and SCADA systems.
- Update and troubleshoot control logic and ensure seamless integration with field instruments.
- Monitor and optimize the operation of automation systems for efficiency and reliability.
- Adhere to all electrical safety standards and hazardous area classification requirements (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
- Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards for instrumentation and electrical systems.
- Perform regular safety checks and maintain records of equipment certifications.
- Maintain accurate records of calibration data, maintenance activities, and electrical schematics.
- Generate reports on system performance, faults, and corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Work closely with engineers, operators, and other technicians to ensure smooth operation of the gas metering station.
- Provide technical support during commissioning, shutdowns, and emergency response situations.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 – 7 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector
Key Competences and Behavioral Expectations:
- Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation faults.
- Familiarity with gas metering systems, PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Experience with hazardous area equipment and wiring (e.g., explosion-proof systems).

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer Mechanical at a Gas Metering Station is responsible for performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems. This includes gas flow meters, pipelines, valves and other critical components used for the accurate measurement and safe transmission of natural gas. The technician ensures all equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment such as gas flow meters, pressure regulators, and valves( Ball, gate, check, control and pressure relief valves) Actuator Piping and fittings.
- Conduct inspections of piping systems, seals, and joints to prevent leaks or system failures.
- Install, calibrate, and test gas metering equipment and associated systems.
- Assist in commissioning new equipment and ensuring proper integration into existing systems.
- Identify and resolve operational issues in gas transmission or metering systems.
- Investigate abnormal operating conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with regulatory and industry standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, safety checks, and equipment certifications.
- Generate reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and safety compliance.
- Provide support during emergency situations to minimize downtime.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 – 7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
Key Competences and Behavioral Expectations:
- Understanding of different gas metering technologies and their working principles.
- Ability to perform leak detection, pressure testing, and pipeline integrity checks.
- Good understanding of pipeline stress analysis and pigging processes
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems used in gas metering stations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic actuators, cylinders, and control valves.
- Understanding of hazardous area classifications (ATEX, IECEx).
- Familiarity with gas safety procedures, including purging and venting.
- Knowledge of firefighting systems and emergency shutdown (ESD) mechanisms.
- Understanding of risk assessment, work permits, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems for monitoring gas metering parameters.

Position Overview:
He is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of gas flow stations. The primary tasks involve monitoring and controlling of the flow of gas, ensuring safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to environmental and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading of gas flow meters and collation of data of gas consumption at the power plant for billing purposes
- Monitoring of gas quality to sound alarm whenever off-spec gas is transmitted into the gas pipeline.
- Monitoring of the gas pressure and to notify the gas supplier whenever the gas pressure is decaying to avoid plant shutdown on low gas pressure.
- Use monitoring equipment and software to track gas levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
- Conduct routine inspections of pipelines, and processing units to ensure optimal functionality.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent leaks, explosions, and other hazards.
- Comply with environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs of operational activities, including flow rates, pressures, equipment performance, and maintenance schedules.
- Prepare and submit hourly reports of pressures and flow rates.
- Prepare and submit reports to supervisors or regulatory authorities.
- Respond to alarms, leaks, or other emergencies promptly and according to established procedures.
- Perform shutdowns or isolations of equipment when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: BSc/ HND or its equivalent in chemical, mechanical, electrical or petroleum engineering (preferred).
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in a similar role or a related field.
Key Competences and Behavioral Expectations:
- Experience in oil and gas operations, particularly in a processing or transmission environment.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and other gas monitoring software.
- Understanding of pipeline and gas metering station equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and operating manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to gas operations.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
