Agatha is the Managing Director of Geometric Power. She joined GP as a pioneer member of the management team in 2002 with over 25 years experience in top Executive Management positions with international organizations in USA and Nigeria. Former Director Sales & Marketing Starwood Hotels, USA and is a Certified Trainer for Starwood Hotels Group, USA. Agatha holds a Masters Degree from the School of Business, George Washington University, (GWU) USA.
She’s a seasoned entrepreneur, motivator and pioneer of various successful corporate organizations.
She is a social entrepreneur and a Fellow of Ashoka, a US based global organization of Changemakers. Agatha also served as the first Lady Captain of the IBB Golf & Country Club, Abuja – Nigeria. She is the Founder of NGOs such as Dewdrop Foundation, Abuja Horticultural Society, and serves as the International Coordinator for the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG).
Ugochukwu Opiegbe has led the Legal Department of Geometric Power since 2010. He oversees every legal aspect of the company’s activities – drafting, reviewing and administering contracts and Joint Development Agreements, negotiating shareholders and joint venture agreements, and monitoring Regulatory and Government relations.
He supervised the legal aspects of a 9-member consortium which made a bid to acquire a Power Distribution Company under the privatization of Power sector assets in Nigeria, an exercise which required working with both Nigerian and International legal advisers.
Opiegbe interfaces with power sector regulators such as the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Transmission Company of Nigeria ( TCN), the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company PLC (NBET), and the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria (GACN) to negotiate and draft various agreements to ensure compliance with extant rules and regulations.
He has held several positions in leading firms such as Streamsowers & Co., Udo Udoma & Belo Osagie, and Edu, Etti & Co. He also worked for the United States law firm Roxana Muro based in Los Angeles, California. He represented low income tax payers under the Tax Appeals Assistant Program sponsored by the California Board of Equization, and also acted as a volunteer with American Civil Liberties Union.
Opiegbe has published 3 works including: Thinking a National Policy… Thinking the Tax Laws (BusinessDay 13th and 14th May, 2008); Pre-Incorporation Contracts & CAMA; and Hotel Guest Liability in Nigeria.
Opiegbe received his LL.B with Honors from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and was part of a chosen few who received the Senior Advocate of the University of Nigeria award. He also received his LL.M. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria.
Ugo is an arid sports lover and has won titles in table tennis in both his Secondary School and University days both in Nigeria and in the US.
Mr. Ononiwu joined Geometric Power in 2013 and leads the Business Development and Project Finance team, which has a pipeline of projects covering multiple fuels such as natural gas, renewables and coal totaling over 3,000 MW. Mr. Ononiwu is responsible for the financial structuring of new development projects, project finance and equity sourcing activities, management of existing project capitalization efforts and business development and investment activities to ensure Geometric Power maintains its position as a leading private power developer in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
Mr. Ononiwu has 20 years of experience in financing energy projects as project finance banker, financial advisor and lead ratings analyst. His significant energy sector experience has brought tremendous value to the Geometric team especially in the fast paced and nascent Nigerian power sector.
Prior to joining Geometric Power, Mr. Ononiwu had a wide raging experience in the Finance Industry with high level management roles including Executive Director & Head of Thermal Power & Oil & Gas Execution Group at BBVA Securities, New York, (USA); Co-Head of Energy, Global Infrastructure & Project Finance at Fitch Ratings, New York (USA); and Director, Project & Structured Finance – (Americas) at Dexia Credit Local New York Branch, (USA). In these positions, Mr. Ononiwu structured, advised, lead arranged and rated financings on energy, infrastructure and environmental transactions including FPSO, LNG regasification and liquefaction facilities, refineries, upstream and midstream oil & gas assets, thermal and renewable power projects, airports, water desalination plants among others. Mr. Ononiwu also previously held positions with Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and The Coastal Corporation (now part of Kinder Morgan).
Mr. Ononiwu holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Columbia Business School in New York (USA).
Engr. Ben Caven has Over 40 years active power industry experience in Nigeria and West Africa. A Former Director for Generation, Transmission and Engineering at NEPA.
Highly renowned in Power Systems Development and practise with a BSc in Electrical Engineering and a Registered Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) member.
Stanley O. Nwachukwu is a business and financial specialist who has served at high levels in several international conglomerates including Kraft Foods and Siemens, and Coca Cola USA. His last role prior to joining Geometric Power was at Coca Cola USA where he was the Finance Director supporting Packaging Integration Group.
Mr. Nwachukwu is an expert in Economic and Financial Modeling, Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Planning, Product Pricing, Production and Sales Volume Analysis, Financial and Operational Re-structuring, Risk Assessment and Value Chain Analysis.
At Coca Cola, he planned, forecast, created and managed Packaging Integration Campaign budgets and direct marketing expenses of $500 million. He also developed a sophisticated tool to analyze North American advertising expenditures by channel, and brand.
With 17 years experience under his belt, Mr. Nwachukwu’s other specialties include Month-end and Year-end close, Internal Control Procedures, Developing Key Performance Indicators, and Financial Consolidation.
Educated in the United States, he holds a B.Sc. in Accounting, a B.Sc. in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance.
With more than 27 years experience behind him, Uwe Theimer became the Commercial Manager of Geometric Power in 2011.
Before then, he was the Commercial Project Manager of Siemens Limited of Nigeria where he was in charge of the second phase of the Geregu Power Plant, near Ajaokuta, one of the biggest electricity generating plants in Nigeria.
Mr. Uwe is a specialist in financial administration. He is adept at cost control, capital expenditure monitoring, contract review and cash management.
His experience is as wide as it is deep, having worked in various industries ranging from consumer and security products, through construction and lamination industries, to financial service industry and packaging.
He rose through the ranks; in the “Controlling Technik” department of the Braun AG of Kronberg, Germany in 1986 to become the Finance Director of Field Deutschland GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany, a packaging company of 450 employees and a turnover of 60 million euros in a short span of 17 years.
He has served in Franz Equipment Parts Services Nigeria Limited, Abuja, as General Manager and was Head of Finance and Administration at Setraco Nigeria Limited, Abuja, a construction company of 7,000 employees and a turnover of 250 million euros.
Mr. Uwe has special skills in internal organization, compliance with regulations, policies, structures, taxes, insurance, invoicing (suppliers and customers) and in keeping the business processes running at an even keel.
He was born and educated in Germany and holds a Master’s degree in Business from the J.W. Goethe-Universitat am Main.
He served for a while in the German armed forces, and runs 5,000 meters a day to keep fit.
